Day 1 (21st September 2024) Registrations of students started at 8:30 am. Forty (40) students from interact clubs in Ramchandra Rathi (marathi medium) School and thirtyeight (38) Panditrao Agashe (english medium) participated in RYLA. Additionally, four students from Nutan Balvikas Mandir, which is an interact school of RCP South, also attended the RYLA. The proceedings began with an opening ceremony starting at 9:30 am. President Amita Nene of RCP Metro delivered the opening address. Guest of honour was Rtn. Balvir Chawla, Director, Dist, Youth Team. First session on situational awareness was conducted by Rtn Prerna Joshi, IT Director of RCP Metro. She is also co-convener of RYLA. This was followed by a session on leadership training, team building, etc. It was conducted by Wing Commander (Retd) Vibhas Pande & his wife Ms Archana Pande. It consisted of outdoor, interactive games & activities carried out in the amphitheater of the Institute for two hours. Later, all students assembled in the classroom to play an interesting Win-Win game, which aimed at developing trust within and outside the team. Since 21st September happened to be International Peace Day, it was an opportune moment to administer Peace Oath to all participants and Rotarians/ Anns/ Annas, etc. attending the session. The last session of the day was taken by Rtn Yogesh Thanage of RCP Lokmanya Nagar. It dealt with safe and effective use of computers and the internet. Day 2 (22nd September 2024) Second day of RYLA began with Role of RYLA and of Youth in Rotary. It was conducted by Rtn Ujjwala Barve of RCP Gandhibhavan and Dist. Dir. International Service. Second session was about goal setting and time management. It was conducted by Ms Pradnya Gokhale, Dean Academics, of MKNS (Mansukhbhai Kothari National Schools). She conducted an activities packed session, teaching all students SWOT analysis, how to set goals correctly and how to manage available time as a valuable resource to achieve those goals. The next session was conducted by Rtn. Dr. Jignesh Pandya. It was a riveting lecture on Uncommon Sense. The next session was on preventing addiction - focussing on substance abuse and screen addiction. Dr. Anuradha Karkare of Niraamay Deaddiction Centre conducted it. She also talked about screen addiction. Later she administered an oath to all students to stay away from addiction. The last session on Day 2 dealt with Communication Skills. It was taken by President Amita Nene of RCP Metro. Soon, it was time to close out the RYLA workshop. Rtn. Sanjay Karwa of RCP Vibrant East, who is also Chair - RYLA in Dist. Youth Team was present as guest of honour. Rtn Madhavi Mehendaley, Dist. Co-chair RYLA addressed the gathering first. She urged all participants to make full use of tools and techniques learnt over the two-days. A few students came forward to address the gathering and give verbal feedback. Co-convenor Shubhada Joshi proposed a vote of thanks after distributing certificates to a few students from different schools. Highlight of this successful event was excellent team work & co-ordination amongst all the Rotarians, Anns & Annas of Rotary Club of Pune Metro as well as cooperation extended by our synergy partners RCP South and RCP Phoenix. Everyone returned home with a sense of achievement and having spent time doing something constructive.
