On one side, RCPM is doing many water conservation projects to ensure water availability all thru the year and bringing water to their door steps via pipeline. This has resulted in saving of lots of time and energy by village ladies. RCPM has taken a step further to ensure proper utilization of these gains. RCPM gave them 19 sewing machines. Last 4 months, RCPM has arranged sewing classes for the ladies. For Diwali, RCPM placed an order for about 200 Diwali Gift Hampers ( Locally Produced goods packed in locally made cotton bags by ladies) and sold them in Pune City. Looking at the progress, RCPM is now planning to hold exhibition of their produce and create market for their products. By providing support, RCPM is making best efforts to charge up these ladies with expertise, making them taste market success and then luring them repeat this again and again, learning new things, management techniques along the way… Which we at RCPM think is true woman empowerment.
